Course Reflection

·         In what ways has this course helped you to develop your own technology skills as a professional teacher?

This course helped me by encouraging me in my teaching practices.  I use technology a lot and this course confirmed that I am going in the right direction.  It also gave me a tremendous amount of research and resources to support my continued development in the future.

·         In what ways have you deepened your knowledge of the teaching and learning process?

I have deepened my knowledge by understanding how technology and society impact the classroom.  To reach current and future students, educators must modify their teaching to meet students’ interests and specific needs.  More importantly, students must be prepared for college and careers while developing kills for the 21st century.

·         In what ways have you changed your perspective from being teacher-centered to learner-centered?

Before I took this class I already led a student-centered classroom environment.  This course just gave me research to confirm my classroom practices.

·         In what ways can you continue to expand your knowledge of learning, teaching, and leading with technology with the aim of increasing student achievement?

I plan on expanding my knowledge by continuing my research of project-based learning and developing technology for my classroom.  I also plan on sharing this information with colleagues in order to lead a more systematic thought throughout my department.

·         Goals for Transformation

My first goal is to try to expand my project-based and student-centered classroom environment beyond my classroom.  I plan on presenting to my faculty and trying to get partnerships with other classrooms.

My second goal is to incorporate student created podcasts as instructional videos for future years.  These podcasts will develop my curriculum and be able to be shared with other educators and students across the nation.

From Week 1

Compared to week 1, I am more confident in my answers.  I have the resources to defend my current classroom practices.  My opinions did not change overall.
